The Spanish cockade was created in imitation of the tricolour cockade of the French Revolution. In the past it was worn by troops, whether in uniform or not, placed on the helmet, hat or on the arm as a distinctive armband during battle.

The Spanish cockade is inspired by the three colours of the French Revolution flag. Formerly, it is worn on troops' helmets, hats, arms or as a distinctive bracelet during battle.
