But the question is … Is a tie bar a trendy or a classic accessory?
Tie bars have always been a classic men’s accessory, widely used in all kinds of uniforms like those of the National Police, Civil Guard, Army, etc. Eve though nowadays it is regarded as rather old-fashioned, it is still used for a classy look with uniforms of all kinds as well as with civilian clothing.
Its basic purpose is that of clipping a tie to the shirt front, preventing it from swinging, although it is also used as a decorative accessory for professional clothing.

How high should the tie bar be clipped? It is placed between the third and fourth button of a shirt, being the first button at the neck level the reference. It used to be clipped by the fifth button, but today the trend is to clip it up to the third button. Actually it is a matter of preference but if you want to be fashionable in this sense just leave it between the third an the fourth button.
Tie bars should not cover more than 3/4 the width of the tie if you want it to look nice. Those longer than 3/4 will surely make you look older and are not available in our store.
