The Spanish marksmen in the War of Sidi Ifni confronted Moroccan forces in an attempt by Morocco to control the territory of Ifni and Villa Bens/Tarfaya, which was then under Spanish administration as part of its possessions in Western Sahara. The marksmen of IFNI made it very difficult for the territory of IFNI to be exposed and vulnerable.
