The CIVIL PROTECTION badge currently used in Spain can be purchased at Insigpol. The radially arranged base represents authority and power. This is the case with all badges with this design that we call radial.
The civil protection badge and its emblem were created as a result of the call made by the League of Nations (mid-20th century) to create an emblem that allows the identification and recognition of this service internationally.
Israel won the League of Nations' call and created the symbol: a Star of David, framed in an orange circle and inside a yellow square.
However, since Civil Protection is a neutral, secular and apolitical body, the symbol with the Star of David (representative of a specific people and religion) underwent modifications. The following:
The Star of David is replaced by a triangle and it is given a blue color, symbol of prevention. Each end of the triangle represents the people responsible for attending an emergency: Institutions, volunteer groups and the general population.
The orange circle represents alert and attention.
In the case of Spain, the royal crown was included, being the Kingdom of Spain and on the badge the base of radial rays, symbol of the sun, which in addition to representing authority and power in this case also represents strength and light in the dark.
You can also buy the Spanish civil protection badge to accompany the T.I.P. or professional volunteer Civil Protection or professional card. In our online store Insigpol, you can also buy the Civil Protection Badge Catalonia.
